Would Google plus help your blog?

If you are also going to blog about Google plus, never write as Google +.

How bloggers can make use of Google plus to attract more targeted visitors? This question is widely raised in the Internet marketing forums and as expected, answers are diverse. Though the number indicates that there are already 10 million Google plus users, I feel it would take a long time to make the Facebook loyalists to betray Facebook.

Here are some answers that I gathered from various places in the web:

* Google allows to place links to your blogs. This means you can also link to your digital foot print.
* Sharing of information is allowed like any other social networking sites.
* I find it easy to add friends and people with similar interests.

Due to lack of patience, I give below a link to a blog post that has pointed several features of Google plus.
http://www.buzzom.com/2011/07/how-authors-bloggers-and-journalists-can-benefit-from-google-plus/

It will help you to grasp the full potential of Google plus.

How blogher.com can help women bloggers?

Would you consider blog directories as blog search engines? I was thinking both are different till I read an article in about.com where it is written blogher.com as a blog search engine where as it is a blog directory.

Nevertheless, it serves the purpose of finding blogs on our topics of interests. It is an important aspect of blog promotion to find and connect with blogs on similar niche we blog about.

This would greatly benefit every blogger in several ways:
* You will know how and what others are blogging on the same topic
* Where their blogs stand in SERPs for the relevant keywords
* You can exchange guest blog posts and blogroll links to increase visibility of our blogs.

I use blogher.com extensively to find great women bloggers. Blogher.com has neatly arranged the blogs under various categories and then further put them alphabetically.

If you are a woman blogger, get your blog listed in blogher.com without any delay.

Code for adding Google +button.

The Google +button was launched two days before. There are widespread blog posts in the blogosphere explaining how to insert the Google +button in your website and blog.

Google +button is an innovative concept which will decide the ranking of websites in search engine search results. I wonder whether Google will still consider the backlinks factor in deciding the search engine results ranking.

In several micro jobs portals, campaigns for voting (adding the plus) on the Google plus button have already started rolling. It is a paid task that might defeat the purpose of Google +.

The code for adding Google +button is here:

Have you added the Google + in your blog?

Travel guest bloggers invited.

Getting fresh and unique visitors to your blog is not a rocket science. If you write what people are looking for, then, you are sure to achieve your goals even if you don't write as well as an English blogger.

Of all the blog traffic generating ways, I believe guest blogging is the most productive one. Your guest blog post on related blogs of your niche will get you new visitors. Once they read your blog post, then, your content should take over to retain them and convert them as regular readers.

I intend to write a series blog posts on guest blogging, a review of blogs that invite guest bloggers and link to such blogs.

Guest Bloggers invited by a Travel Blog.

I know many travel bloggers who are passionate about writing their world travel experiences. If you are a travel bloggers, then, please visit www.afilipinadollblogger.blogspot.com

Quick Tip:
In order for your travel blog post to attract lots of visitors, include a stunning photo.

How to use Stumbleupon for blog traffic?

Stumbleupon.com requires no introduction for all of us bloggers. However, we all need to use it to the optimum to get free targeted visitors to our blogs.

I am using Stumbleupon.com since its very beginning but I have realized I am not doing it the correct way. Below are some points I have learnt from a few online blogs and SEO forums.

* We have to change the title and description while stumbling our own content. We generally use the same blog post's title.

* It is not advisable to stumble our own content always.

* We must spend time in Stumbleupon.com to actively look for some of our interests and stumble them leaving an useful note for the benefit of others.

* Show genuine interest in others' content and build a lasting network. Stumbleupon is not merely a social bookmarking site. It is a big community of people from all over the world with varied interests.

* Visit Stumbleupon.com at least once a week and spend a minimum of 15 minutes to browse, add friends and stumble their content.

Instant blog traffic through guest blogging.

There was lull about guest blogging invitations in the last quarter of 2010. Since the beginning of new year 2011, I have been reading a spate of emails and blog posts about the value of guest blogging to bloggers.

It seems more than 100 blogs have opened up for guest blogging luring the bloggers with a minimum of two links back to their site and syndication of guest blog posts to several blog networks.

Do I detect a mental block in the minds of bloggers who are inviting guest blog posts that will fill up their blogs with unique content free of charge? I think it is one of the advantage for the host bloggers; in fact, I don't see any other advantage.

Oh well, so be it.

Here is a blog that accepts guest blog post.
http://www.bloggingpro.com/guest-posting-on-bloggingpro/

Be sure to read a rather lengthy rules section before you fill out the guest post submission form.

Get your blogs the right exposure.

I spent half of yesterday searching for ways to promote my blogs. I got lucky as I compiled about a dozen new avenues to propagate my blogs. It was a revelation to me. There are more web sites that are buried in the vast web that can be used by every blogger to promote their blogs, build a strong readership and gain useful insight on what is happening in the blogosphere.

I will blog about my findings one by one. Here is the first website for your blog promotion.

http://bloginteract.com/

It allows bloggers and freelance writers and journalists to meet online virtually and submit their favorite stories, photos, videos, and more.

I would call Blog Interact as a bloggers community to engage and interact with other bloggers from all parts of the world.

Oh yes, it is a perfect niche social bookmarking site targeted at bloggers.

Do follow backlinks from Twellow.

How many of you are using Twellow.com, an yellow page of Tweeters? It is a directory Tweeters arranged under every possible category.

While creating your profile, you can list all your social media contact information that include FriendFeed, Mixx, Delicious and so on.

As soon as you permit Twellow to access your Twitter profile, it brings back a lot of your information which is then automatically included in your Twellow profile. All the links in your Twellow profile are do follow.

See the screenshot below. The blue highlights are 'do follow' links.

Twellow is very useful to get targeted followers and you too can follow Tweeters who are in your niches.

Twellow navigation is very friendly at every stage while searching the directory or while editing your profile.

You can make use of Twellow in many ways to increase your brand awareness. Use it first to promote your blogs and get a free oneway, do follow backlink.

Another bloggers community at Blog Farm.

The Blog Farm is a recently started community of bloggers that offer several ways to generate instant blog traffic.

How it works
* Add your blogs and confirm ownership by placing a badge on your blog.

* Find and add other bloggers as your friends. This will facilitate reciprocal visits instantly.

* Find blogs by category, read, leave a comment. You are assured of similar courtesy.

* When you visit others' blogs, you can cross-post articles of interest. An assured way to syndicate your blog posts.

* There is a forum that I found to be very active. The first thread itself offers to add your blogs for which you want followers.

* The forums has more uses to gain knowledge and ask questions.

The site is a bit slow; you need patience to explore it. Overal, it is an excellent platform for blogging communities to increase visitors to their blogs, syndicate their blog posts and generate regular viewership.

Instant blog traffic through new bloggers community.

I found out an excellent bloggers community at bloggers.com (it is not blogger.com) In the wake of impending closure of Yahoo! owned mybloglog.com, this comes as a great alternative to blogger to build network and increase blog traffic.

I would say bloggers.com has more networking features than mybloglog.com

Features of bloggers.com
You can add all of your blogs in your dashboard. The system publishes a thumbnail of your blog automatically. You need to place a small badge of them in your blog as a verification method.

You can browse the blogs by several parameters including your native town and add them as your friends, visit their blog and follow them, vote for them, etc.

They will also come to know who voted them, who followed their blogs and this naturally gets you a visit to your blog.

Remember to click on "talks' tab which is further arranged in several categories. Read the discussions, participate and this again directs visitors to your blog.

The blog directory itself is organized in various categories to add your blog and browse through others' blogs. This paves way for fresh blog content ideas for bloggers.

There is a personal messaging facility too to interact with friend bloggers.

Whenever I log in, I could not come out for another hour. There are responsive blogger and some great blogs that I never found in any other blog directory.

Remember, it is a bloggers community. It is not just enough to add your blogs and exit, hoping others will visit your blogs. You must visit as many blogs as you can based on your interest of course. Add bloggers as friends, vote for them, participate in talks and you are guaranteed for a long haul of blog promotion.

World's first blog magazine.

Blog M is hosted at this URL: http://myblogm.com with unique design and navigation that is rarely seen in blogs irrespective of the blogging platforms.

BlogM is developed and maintained by Mr.Vetri Selvan, a fellow blogger from my dear old Madras. (not Chennai-eh?) He has another blog at Think Diverso, a blog that speaks on myriad topics interestingly.

Blog M is a sort of online blog magazine that is going to feature talented bloggers of the world. The BlogM has pointed out top 3 bloggers in January. I promptly clicked on the first blogger named Purba Ray. She has written a short blog post titled, "Fall of Feminine". In her blog, she has touched upon the familiar stories of assaults on women and female infanticide.

The second featured blogger called Nandan Narula has written about investing in mutual funds. I did not find anything new in his blog post.

Oh, I think I got carried away! It is my intention to make you visit BlogM and read it all by yourself.

Give a little bit of push to BlogM in the blogosphere. I hope it reaches to all the Chennai bloggers.

Spillbean blog directory.

After a long time, I visited a new blog directory called Spillbean. Very odd name for a directory of blogs-right?

It is a simple one with friendly user interface. Adding my blog was easy. However, due to a bug, it was not added. For free listing, you must provide a link back to Spillbean.com I gave a reciprocal URL as demanded and obliged the spam filter exercise.

But it kept saying that I made an error with the spam filter task.

Hmmm.. a new kind of bug!

The noise and hype about social media marketing.

Obviously there is a lot of noise and hype about promoting your blogs through social media websites like Digg, Delicious, Mixx and Sphinn. I have deliberately cut short the list.

I think bloggers who actively mention about the importance of social media sites to the world of blogging have not fully exposed the secret behind the value of social media sites.

Like you and thousands of other bloggers, I too submit my blog posts occasionaly in Digg and Reddit only to draw a blank in terms of new visitors. No! Don't start writing that content is important. I know.

Unless, you have a big and loyal following in Digg like sites and they all Digg your submission that pushes it to the front page, there is no way your blog can get traffic. Let this sink in now!

Everyone is busy submitting their favorite links in social media sites; none is remotely interested in reading yours.

Why finding bloggers of your niche is important.

Did you think that communicating with bloggers of your niche is not a good idea as it will take your blog's readers away from your blog?

If so, you are wrong. The Internet is too vast to be a competition to anyone.

Communicating with other bloggers who blog about similar topics will get you fresh targeted readers to your blog.

There is a term called authority. Linking to similar niche blogs will definitely increase your blog's authority on the topic. If you are familiar with technorati ranking, you will know what I am talking about.

Find blogs of your niche in:

The best blog traffic comes from...

The best blog traffic comes from blogcatalog.com If you are aware of the traffic analysis provided by Google in its blogger platform based blogs, you find the traffic sources for your blog.

In other words, you will know which site has sent you more visitors. My blogs are more frequented by the members of Blog Catalog. This means they are knowledgeable bloggers and internet marketers.

I have been associated with blogcatalog.com since 2006 and I must confess that I have not been an active participant in blogcatalog.com of late. I feel I should reciprocate my interest in others' blogs.

In addition, if I participate in some of the groups I have joined in blog catalog, my blogs will get more visitors.

Thank you blog catalog members for all the interest you have shown in my blogs.
