The other day, one of my blogging trainees asked if all the free and paid blogging platforms are web 2.0 based. I said yes though I think some of them simply command terrific respect by the search engines.

Whether a blogger likes or not the blogger platform, it is by far the best blogging platform when you speak in terms of web 2.0 features.

What are tumblelogs?

I am not a lazy blogger but sometimes I too would like behave like one; that is blog with a just a few lines or just an image that will self expressive.

But pro blogging requires that I follow certain norms and that is a blog post with a minimum of 100 words is must, not to speak about 200 worded posts.

Tumblr is great if you don’t have time to blog, but still want to share something now and again. It lets you easily post videos, pictures, links, and of course you can write there too. They have expressed it nicely: "To make a simple analogy: If blogs are journals, tumblelogs are scrapbooks."

You can also look at tumblelogs as slightly more structured blogs that make it easier, faster, and more fun to post and share stuff you find or create.

A tumblelog is a variation of a blog that favors short-form, mixed-media posts over the longer editorial posts frequently associated with blogging. Common post formats found on tumblelogs include links, photos, quotes, dialogues, and video. Unlike blogs, this format is frequently used to share the author's creations, discoveries, or experiences without providing a commentary.
