AppVita Review

Tal.ki is an application that lets users embed forums into their websites just like they would a YouTube video. If you can copy and paste, then you have the skills necessary to create a fully functional online forum where the readers of your blog or website can interact with each other and discuss the day’s latest events. Much more than just a souped-up commenting feature, Tal.ki forums put the control in your readers’ hands by letting them create new discussions centered around the topics that matter to them most.

Multiple Tal.ki pricing options let you select the plan that fits best; depending on the number of visitors you expect to have using the forums on your site. After signing up, Tal.ki will give you a line of HTML code to embed in your website just like you would embed a YouTube video clip. Paste the code wherever you like, and within an instant you’ve got a functioning forum where your readers can sound off. Individual Tal.ki forums can be run across multiple pages of your website, allowing people to check out the forums no matter what page they’re on. Even better, your readers don’t have to sign up for an account with Tal.ki before they get started posting. Instead, they just need to log in with a Google, Facebook, Yahoo, or Twitter account and they’re ready to go.

Like other online forums, Tal.ki forums feature multiple categories and sticky posts, and let users subscribe to certain threads to find out when new content has been added. And because the forum is located on your site, you’ll always remain the key administrator in charge of determining who is and isn’t allowed to post what types of content. For bloggers and developers who need a better way to increase the amount of time users spend on their sites, Tal.ki forums are an obvious solution that can ramp up user interaction on any website or blog.

Practical Uses:
  • Create a forum on your blog where readers can chat with each other
  • Get to know your fans by communicating in your own forum
  • Find out what readers would like to read more about on your site

  • Adding a Tal.ki forum to a website is as simple as clicking copy and paste
  • Admin panel is easy to understand and use
  • Tal.ki offers plugins for increased integration with WordPress and Google sites
  • Forums are a great way to get to know your readers

Accessories for HTC Desire Z Android.

I must tell you it was to choose the right kind of car mount for my latest htc desire Android because of several options. I did a bit of online shopping which took more time than I expected.

My husband kept saying no to my selection of car mount. I think he was right on his reasons due to the windshield size of my car. Finally I selected this (see image) stylish stand for my HTC Desire.

My son patiently configured this highly advanced Android Smartphone. Had he given that task, I would not have done it with ease. I also bought a 32 MB memory card and loaded all my favorite religious discourses.

As of now, I am using the Android only as a MP3 player. I am yet to utilize its high-tech features fully.

Is there any use in engaing pinging services?

I don't know! I am not very sure about the widespread cliam that pinging your blog's feed URL will drive free traffic. I tried it several times. Nothing happened. May be I should tried to monitor the traffic using special tracking methods.

Do you know the most talked about pining service called Pingomatic? It notifies plenty of search engines that the submitted blog is just updated with fresh content. Don't search eventually crawl blogs? What is the necessity in using pinging services?

One view is that search engines do send their bots to blogs periodically but it takes time, After all, they are too busy and the launching of new blogs make the process more delayed. That is why pinging your blog speed up the visit of search engines.

Is it so?

As a problogger, I have subscribed to pingomatic's blog feed. It was last updated on March 2009!

Are you short of just two steps?

The children these days are amazingly resourceful. They come up with practical ideas at the right time. See this two- step stool below.

It was lying in the corner of my office when I opened it today morning with a note stuck to it.

The note said it is a gift from my 12th class students.

So, they have been watching me struggling to reach the top shelf for mathematics text books. I wished I could buy a couple of two step stools that I recently saw in a medical shop. The idea appealed to me. However, I had no idea where I could buy two step stools.

My students silently surprised me with their thoughtful gift. These two step stools are suitable for libraries and shops where books and goods are stacked on space saving tall shelves. I appreciated the idea of buying wooden stool that adds to the ambience to any room. What I saw in the pharmacy was made of steel.

I was filled with deep felt gratitude.

I have installed the 'all in one SEO' plugin but never got around configuring to use its full potential even though I have read more than 100 times about 'all in seo' plugin from every blogger that I respect.

I just stumbled across a video tutorial on how to use 'all in seo' plugin effectively.
You too can watch this video. Please share this blog post if you find it useful.

3 Laws of Blogging

I am blogging for 3 years. Is that a lot? Yes and no.

Did I reach the goals I setup for myself in 2007? Yes and no.

But no matter, if my financial expectations were real or not, I am not leaving. Because, I like blogging. I do not expect immediate results anymore, I set the realistic expectations, and I enjoy every bit of success.

And what about you?

I found the article on VA4buisness useful for those, who started blogging, but are not happy with their results. Presenting below…

Many people start blogging with a big hope, but a lot of them fail to convert that hope into real excitement. And a lot many say quit, just after a couple of months of blogging. I have personally witness the sad exist of many talented blogger. They would have done better, if they had persisted and factored in the elements I am going to talk in this article.

I personally do not like the idea of quitting, and seeing countless many people failing, I decided to pen down 3 laws of blogging which should never be broken or overlooked — come what may. These laws are there since always and they have been talked about many times, but still people are not applying them. I hope this article will help them put things in order.

Clean design

Design is the first thing anyone notices on your website, and when I said anyone I meant search engine spiders as well. Yes, they too care about the design and how well your website is laid out. Still many people do not seem to care about this, and they end up choosing a poorly laid theme for their blogs.

A poorly laid theme could be of two kinds: one that looks sleek to human, but the codes are not well written, such themes appears messy to search bots, and the another type could be the one that appears messy and cluttered to human as well.

You should choose a theme that looks clutter free, and whose code is optimized for search bots. Any blogging theme that comes from a reliable designer meets these criteria. Themes created by armatures do fail to meet either of the two criteria I talked about above.

Creative content

Although the design of a blog is what people notice at first, it is not “the thing” for which they come to your blog, with a possible exception of blogs that are known for their WOW (read creative) design.

Content of a blog is more important than the design, and it should always be top quality. Do not ever use syndicated content. I know, upon reading this, a lot many eye brows must be raised, but this will not change the fact that they are not “top quality” content. Search engine may not penalize the use of syndicated content, but human does. No one likes to waste time reading crappy article, which is available everywhere else.

You should stay clear of duplicate content as well because even search engines do not like this. I must add here that syndicated content is classified as duplicate content by search engine or not is a debated issue, and the winner of the debate is yet to be decided.

Do not use any PLR content or spun articles on your blog. This will not only push your visitors away, but it will also push the search engines to raise red flag, which may lead to banishment from the search world. And no website or blog would like to be “search untouchable”.

Constant promotion

Promotion is akin to going on rooftop with a loudspeaker in your hand and shouting at top of your voice. This may sound heinous — blame it on the description of promotion I gave above — but we need to do that only. You may not want to do that in your neighborhood, but up here on the Internet, you do not have any other option. If you do not do that, no one will know about your blog.

The Internet is an overly crowded world, and it is getting even more crowded after every passing second. Just being different or even the best will not cut it for you here. You will have to outspoken about the services you offer.

Do not shy away from promotion. This is the only marketing tool we have to inform our visitors about the work we do. Talking about you and your work is not a shameful activity. Be as enthusiastic about promotion as you can be.

Do not break any law

The laws of blogging that I have talked about above are not like traffic laws in your city, which by design is stupid and senseless. These laws have their foot in reality and consumer psyche. Breaking any of the above given three unbreakable laws of blogging will put your blog at risk.

My comment

So, what am I doing? Why I am intentionally breaking one of the unbreakable laws and posting non-original content? It might look illogical in content that I absolutely agree with author that duplicate content is not well-accepted by search engines? Simply say – because I respect the reader and if I find the content and explanation useful, there is no point to re-write it just to please crawlers. How reasonable that is? I deem that a reasonable approach, but admit that it can be questionable.

And what is your opinion?

Google Pagerank update news!

There is a deafening silence regarding Google Pagerank update. Since the last PR update was in April 2010, there have been a lot of speculations about when the next PR update or is it going to happen at all etc.

After reading the several forum threads in different forums, I think Google is not going to sustain with this website metric and ultimately, the PR indicator in Google toolbar will be removed.

In one forum, I read that Google uses as many as 200 different factors to rank pages in the Google search results. Wow! Where am I?

Unfortunately, I have no idea about the 200 SEO factors.

Here is an interesting video regarding those various factors that Google considers:

What do you think? Shall we have a poll on this issue?

For the latest news on insurance rates.

True to their word, they are insurance specialists indeed! When I forwarded the insurance quote to my friend, I thought he will appreciate my kind gesture. I imagined he is a novice in matters of life insurance because he is very young. He married a doctor only a week ago.

His email reply me took me by surprise. It indicated that he is not only well informed but also knows where to buy his life insurance policies.

In his email he quoted several pieces of articles from insurancespecialists.com on life insurance for persons over 50. Those samples spoke highly of the website and it revealed a true concern for elderly people who have not insured their life.

I called him up to express my appreciation and gratitude and did not fail to ask him why he had sent those article samples. He gently reminded me that I turned 50 six months ago and I have no life insurance till date.

600 do follow forums.

I am not going to stress the importance of do follow forums and blogs. It has been said in 100s of blogs and forums. So, let me just go on to tell you about where to find do follow forums in which you can create a profile with a link back to your website.

The link can be your home page or inner page.

From my experience, I know members of the forums, its moderators and owners will visit your link at least in order to find out your link has not violated their rules! Therefore, your website gets a few visitors instantly.

In addition, you get a very valuable inbound link aka backlink and that too from a 'do follow' website. I don't know when the search engines will crawl the forums and index your link but it will be done ultimately-right?

Now, where do you find a ready list of 'do follow' forums?
Well, it is with me. I have it-600 of them. But it is not given free. I charge a small fee of just $7

If you want it, please email me. Look up at my profile and you will find my email id.

World’s best photo chromic sunglass.

No one can resist looking for a second time at anyone wearing Julbo Revolution Ski Goggles. The striking color and a debonair frame are really for the contemporary youths who love to emulate their heroes.

My son is no exception. He simply adores Roger Federer both for his game and for style. My son first bought a Rolex watch that Federer endorsed. Now, he saw the tennis ace wearing dashing goggles in a fashion magazine.

He found out that his hero was shown wearing Julbo Revolution Ski Goggles that even I too am aware of. This sunglass is fitted with polycarbonate zebra lens that changes the color of the glass according to the changing day light.

This not your ordinary photo chromatic sunglass, buddy, that can change only to two colors. Its range of colors is awesome and unbelievable.

There are more unique features about this goggle. Read it at the website hidden in the link above.

The best way to make money from your blog.

Like me, I am sure you too have come across blog posts of various veteran bloggers that selling ad space in your blog is the most productive and easiest ways to make money from your blog.

The process involves first telling the world of advertisers that your blog can host banners and text links ads of advertisers.

Then, of course, you wait for sponsors to contact you. They will do this based on:
* Your blog's Alexa ranking
* Your RSS feed subscribers count
* Your blog's page rank awarded by Google
* Your blogging platform
* Your blog's design (only minimally I hope)

If you look at these parameters that advertisers consider, then, you would realize that you should first place the Alexa rank widget on your blog followed showing the feed subscribers' count.

I have nothing new to say about Google PR.

You should definitely host your blog on a paid domain and on your own paid host.

Implement these and announce that your blog is open to advertisers on a prominent place on your blog and hope for the best.

Unless you try it, you would stay where you are-right?

How I burn calories without suppressing my appetite?

My online friends call me I am a digital rag picker because I sign up for anything that is offered free. I like to read e-books and short reports on health, blogging, IM and beauty.

Recently, I was reading a review of Lipofuze when I was offered a free e-book titled, “101 ways to burn calories”. This is my favorite topic. I have written articles on how to burn calories without the aid of weight loss pills and appetizer suppressants.

I am a firm believer of staying lean but muscular without suppressing the appetite. I would like to eat what I like but at the same, I should be able to burn my calories easily. That should be possible for all work at moms like me.

The reason for my looking at a Lipofuze review was I read that Lipofuze now contains 7-keto DHEA as one of the ingredients. This wonder material is said to be an effective calorie killer.

The review site called Supplement Critic contains useful information and is a lot different from several review sites. I have bookmarked it for future reference.

What stopped me from buying Swiss gold?

It is perplexing! Why have I never heard of the Pamp Suisse gold bars till date? Only when I read an offbeat article in a local magazine, I realized I have never heard of the Swiss gold bar in spite of my penchant for bullion investing.

Well, you can’t brand me as a veteran of bullion trader but I am fairly well known to buy gold coins of America and Australia and India. My usual source for buying gold coins is the United States Gold Bureau.

I spent time in the Internet to educate myself about the famous Swiss gold. Though I must say I am pretty impressed with the respect commanded by the Swiss gold, I think I like the American Gold Eagle coins more than the Pam Suisse gold.

Unlike the Americans and the South Africans, I think the Swiss people are not very enthusiastic about seeing their famous gold bars being purchased by gold lovers of the world.

The life of a blog consultant.

I have been blog consultant since 2007. For the first time, I found glimpses of brilliance in an eager trainee. Though he doesn't know much of the basics of blogging like on site SEO, blog promotional methods and blogging tools, he is already into problogging since 4 years!

While training him the art of blogging, I found myself well informed in the art of blogging though I know I have not implemented all my knowledge in my own blogs. I know it is a serious lacuna on the part of a blogging consultant. However, that did not deter new trainees from hiring me as their blogging consultant.

Yesterday, while interacting with my new trainee, I learnt a couple of new things in the area of monetizing the RSS feed with Google AdSense and backlinks in the blog comment.

There is certainly nothing new about the concept of blogging but one must be aware of emerging change in policies and workings of the search engines.

How can you start your video blog?

Whether you are a new blogger or a veteran, you can't remain oblivious of the fact that text blogging will be completely replaced by video blogging in the next three years.

Therefore, it is essential for all of us to start learning about setting up a video blog.

What equipments you require a video blog?
If you are seriously thinking of launching a top-notch video blog, then you had better buy a portable camcorder.

If it is beyond your limits, use your mobile phone's in-built camera. Most mobile phones offer at least 20 minutes of video recording which is more than sufficient for a post video blog aka Vlog.

If you think your voice is good, then feel free to use it. Else, hire a voice over service provider.

Don’t postpone your decision to learn video blogging anymore.

Can you become famous by buying gold?

I know it sounds silly when you read the title but it turned out to be true to a peasant. He (incidentally he is my relative) is a silent worker and loves the adulation for whatever he does in his own discreet way.

I tried to teach him blogging but he simply did not have a blogger in him. True to his nature, he believes in reaping the fruits of his sowing efforts. He showed unusual brilliance for figures (not human figures buddy).

I asked him if he would be interested in investing in bullion purely for making profit. Noting the gleam in his eyes, I patiently explained to him about how to buy gold, when to buy and where to buy.

With the aid of numerous online graphs showing the gold price movement, I taught the villager whatever has been taught to me by the U.S. Gold Bureau, the authority in precious metals investment.

Then, the attentive student simply vanished from my life for two years only to surface again in the local newspaper that featured him as a successful bullion trader from a remote village.

Hmmm. What have I learnt from my own student?

HTTrack Website Copier

This Thanksgiving Holidays brought me an unpleasant surprise. Coming home from the long and cold weekend, I have found out that my Blogger account was completely blocked and all 18 blogs, I am managing, were disabled. Luckily, the account restoration was smooth, and the blogs reappear immediately after my credentials were confirmed. All blogs, but one, which was claimed to be a splog (spam blog). Even though I am absolutely confident that there was mistake in the spider definition, I cannot be sure that it error is going to be corrected, and the blog is going to be restored. That is one of the major drawbacks of using overly nice, convenient, and free Blogger platform. But even thou I have appealed twice for additional review, the blog can be gone forever.

So, what could I do differently to avoid such situation? Follow the rules? I followed them. Be careful with posted content? I am confident, there was no violation. But, I missed one important step: I failed to backup the blogs. Indeed, if I would have a backup of the blocked blog on my hard drive, I could more or less easy transfer the posts to a different location, another blogging or hosting platform.

Essentially, I started looking for good solution to backup the remaining blogs. While there are several online services available for blogs backup (like Blog Backupr, for example), I decided to shoot for completely independent solution and choose the software, which will allow downloading the entire blog with text, pictures, and comments to my Hard Drive). And I would like to share the utility, I am going to use from now on. Hope you may find it useful as well.

HTTrack is a free (GPL) and easy-to-use offline browser utility. It is able to operate with any website on the Web, including blogs. Software allows you to download a World Wide Web site from the Internet to a local directory, building recursively all directories, getting HTML, images, and other files from the server to your computer. HTTrack arranges the original site's relative link-structure.

Simply open a page of the "mirrored" website in your browser, and you can browse the site from link to link, as if you were viewing it online. HTTrack can also update an existing mirrored site, and resume interrupted downloads. HTTrack is fully configurable, and has an integrated help system.

The software has many configuration options for advanced users, but it can be used “out-of-the-box” right away without making any changes to the default settings.

WinHTTrack is the Windows 2000/XP/Vista/Seven release of HTTrack, and WebHTTrack the Linux/Unix/BSD release. Portable version is available, so you do not need to install the utility on your Hard Drive.

The moms of the new millennium.

The moms of the new millennium are smart and well prepared. Did you not notice this change? It is very distinct.

They anticipate many shortcomings that they faced when they were teenagers and equip themselves accordingly. I met the mother of one of my students in the temple yesterday. Even the heavy downpour did not deter her to stop me for a moment.

She told me to pray for her teenage son who has shut himself in his room because of pimples. Acne on teenagers erupts without warning and they don’t go away easily. You have to pamper them with prescription medicines as well as home remedies for a minimum of a week for them to show sign of fading.

This mother told me that she is heading the reviews of anti acne products published in http://www.teenage-acne.org/ See how well educated and insightful she is.

My mother scolded me whenever I got acne on my face. She used to shout at me for my skin care negligence. Actually, I always let the pimples to suppress on their own. Oh, I had applied a paste of sandalwood but never believed it would work but it did obviously.
