What is your definition of Luxury?

Sure, opinion varies on public issues and product reviews. Preference about holiday vacation definitely varies; I prefer luxury vacations in hill stations always. My entire family loves to go to mountains to escape the heat of coastal area.

I wonder what the standards are that one would consider declaring as luxurious! This is my idea of luxury:

Chauffer driven car from my home to airport and from there to the hotel or resort

Welcome by the hotel owner himself at the reception desk

A very spacious bathroom and that is spotless. It should get dried immediately after use. (Oh, I will give 5 minutes probably?)

Everything I need from coffee, food, drinks, snacks should be served at my room without me having to order for them. I want an intuitive service

Again a separate chauffer driven car to take me around

A full pledged, free body massages.

Well, I could go on but I think I have found out a perfect travel service that meets all my luxury needs.

Just click on the link above and you will know.

Submit your blog.

Rate My Blog seems to be a place to get a little bit of blog promotion. It is basically a blog review site where blogs get reviewed and rated.

I have come to know that these kind of web sites attract a lot of readers who are looking to find blogs of their interest. Rate my blog reviews blogs by categories and that would give your blog an opportunity to parked under the right category to be found and read.

The reviews are written by those who submit blogs. You can also write a review on blogs that you read regularly.

But you need to have an account with rate my blog to review but you can read reviews without registration.

The site is a bit slow to load and I found some broken links too.

Suppress my appetite?

I am shocked at the number of flyers and brochures on hoodia in my mailbox. The last time I counted was 9 hoodia promotional materials. The disturbing factor is nearly every one said they are different and assured me that they are the original.

What confusion! How a person who is ready to try hoodia pills for the first time will decide among all these suppliers? Is there a website where one can gather all the necessary information on hoodia?

Yes, Hoodiaconsumerreview.org is the right place to gain insight on Hoodia diet products based on feedbacks and reviews by real consumers.

Fortunately, I don’t need to diet and there is no way I will suppress my appetite.

Directory submission service.

No, I am not offering directory submission service but I am directing you towards one that seems to the nuances of directory submission.

I have been doing directory submissions for the past 5 years and I have compiled several huge lists of directories only to delete them after some time when I have realized that they are just occupying my space.

I know directory submission is a boring task and I have engaged outside directory submission services twice. Now, I am operating two directories, a general web directory and a niche web directory.

Directory maximizer offers directory submission service at the rate of 14 cents per submission. I found out about them in their own blog post titled, "Why use a directory submission service".

I glanced at their list of SEO friendly directory list and I am impressed with it.

Watches and beyond.

If you show me a couple of watches and give me the freedom to select one, I will choose the one that will be called as the worst choice by my husband and son. I used agree with their reasoning after I hear them out.

But, why didn’t I consider those before my selection?

I remember once being dragged away from the kitchen and asked to sit in front of the computer and shown watchesbeyond.com, a web site that deals with several brands of luxury watches such as Baume & Mercier, Chopard, Concord, Ebel, Geneve, Longines, Maurice Lacroix and more. I am sure many of the above names are new to you also.

When I was asked to select one, I imagined what my son would prefer and after much deliberation, I chose one with a golden case. It is a Baume & Mercier Classima that you see here.

For once, I saved myself from being ridiculed.

How to buy Swarovski crystal?

Before I intended to a write a review of a blog that wrote about jewels made of Swarovski crystals, I wanted to read something about it. The word Swarovski is new to me though I might have seen those beautifully colored crystals.

Swarovski is the luxury brand name for the range of precision-cut lead crystal glass and related products produced by companies owned by Swarovski AG of Feldmeilen, near Zรผrich, Switzerland.

Swarovski crystal contains approximately 32% lead to maximize refraction. The Swarovski Crystal range includes crystal sculptures and miniatures, jewelry and couture, home decor and chandeliers.

Ariana R. Cherry maintains a blogs named Poetry n Jewels because she makes hand made jewelry and she happens to be a poet too.

Her blog post titled, "How to Purchase Swarovski Crystals" has an interesting information. Cherry says we must buy Swarovski crystals only if they are made in Austria because of high quality.

CellSpin Adds Palm OS to List of Supported Mobile Operating Systems

Blogging itself is not a very old and established trend, but it looks much more mature in comparison with mobile blogging (so called moblogging). Yes, mobile blogging is spreading around, getting attention of the software developers. Cellspin Soft, Inc. provides a free, one-click GUI-based mobile application for capturing images, audio, video and text, and publishing them to a user’s favorite community site. This could be a blogging, social networking, and photo sharing or auction service. Among the supported sites are MySpace, Facebook, Twitter, Pownce, Blogger, YouTube, Picasa, Flickr, Live Journal, Live Spaces and eBay.

Until recently, the software was available for the following mobile operating systems: Symbian, Windows Mobile 5.0, Windows Mobile 6.0, and Blackberry. As of yesterday, CellSpin added Palm OS to the list. Overall, the software is now available on more than 300 mobile phone models worldwide.

Bobby Gurvinder Singh, chief executive officer and co-founder of CellSpin, said "The affordable Palm Centro smartphone has become very popular, and now with CellSpin Palm OS application users can stay connected, blog and micro-blog on leading social networks with just one click. CellSpin is about combining Web 2.0 and Mobile 2.0 technologies and giving end-users a seamless and easy Internet 3.0 experience."

Company announced that more operating systems will be supported soon. I guess, its time to connect iPhone OS and Android…

Application is very user-friendly and limits the mobile phone operation need for this application by several clicks. Review the company video presentation at Demo 08 Conference in January 2008 (http://www.demo.com/demonstrators/demo2008/124662.html)

A blog reviewed.

I searched for a blog that deals with webmasters' tools, bloggers alike, with daily blogging tips, including Wordpress and some money making online too.

Well, I was bombarded with search results and I know I may have to spend days browsing through the list. I am sure this very blog of mine must be busried somewhere along the huge list.

So, I selected a random blog based on an odd name. I selected a blog named YeePage, a WP based blog. I was attracted (?) at once by the clutter of the familiar 125x125 size button ads on the right side.

I clicked on the 'money making' tab and didn't have patience for the page to load. Finally, it was live and what I found were just a few survey sites that nobody touches these days.

I clicked on, 'Sphinn' and I am sorry, the page loads too slow for me.

Save on insurance dues.

Two of the most widely used services online are getting quotes for life insurance and vehicle insurance. This is the area where we can save thousands of dollars every year if we get premium quotes from all the insurance providers, compare the data and then decide to pay.

In my own web directory, hundreds of web sites are listed where one gets quotes and rates from most of the life insurance companies. You can also compare term life insurance policies from these companies all from one screen.

One might not notice the service rendered by such websites like wholesaleinsurance.net, a BBB approved web site. We all take them for granted. But I always appreciate these kinds of service websites, the interface they provide for us to get quotes and compare them, the e-commerce gateway etc.

I have been consistently making profit.

The full credit should go to Monex only for my consistent profit by investing or trading in silver and gold.

I have been a faithful reader of articles published by precious metals experts at Monex.com, America’s silver and precious metals investment leader for 30 plus years.

I also constantly watch the price movements of precious metals in Monex.com. Do you know that between July 1, 2003 and November 30, 2006, the price of gold increased approximately 84%, while the price of silver increased more than 200%?

I buy silver bars (ingots) and gold coins from Monex. I have several followers who have watched the change in my life style. (Smile)

Monex Precious Metals is home to a large and dedicated staff of hard asset professionals committed to serving your precious metals investment needs and being America’s best dealer with a convenient market and competitive precious metals prices.

Yahoo Blog directory.

It is a news to me and must be to you too. I passionately compile blog promotion ways and blog directories naturally is my top priority.

In this blog itself, have written a few times about list of blog directories that I have found. Today only, I happen to know about a list of blog directories published by Yahoo! I stumbled across this useful information while reading a blog post by Catch the Posts.

There are 58 blog directories listed by Yahoo! headed by the giant Technorati. Apart of all the popular blog directories, I have a quite a few new blog directories such as BlogMatcher.

Another new directory is BlogTorrents.com that is said to contain fresh torrents from millions of blogs.

Join this new company to earn from your blogs.

Review Me-wait, it is not review me I am talking about. I know Review me has been around for some time.

Review Me was very kind to send me an email yesterday to notify me of a new company called "Blog Rolled' that invites blog publishes to submit their blogs to make some money through blog advertising.

This opportunity seems to be an easy way to earn as this is not a blogging job for advertisers. All you need to do as a blog publisher is to insert a link in your blog roll.

This is a cool concept because it is unlike ‘text link ads’ which is not in tune with Google's terms.

I have signed up and awaiting for their approval of my blogs.

Thank you Review Me!

14 Ways to Promote your Blog Offline

Are you sure you are doing everything possible to promote your blog wherever you can? When I explored recent Darren Rowse offline blog promotion techniques, I realized that I do almost nothing for the offline promotion for my blog. I will list briefly the provided opportunities to let people know about your blog existence in the blogosphere:

1. Conferences and Conventions - if there is a conference that relates to the topic of your interests you can come, try to attend. Be proactive, make friends, and distribute promotional materials if available.

2. Business Cards - make the cards with interesting, attractive appearance and all contact information you want to share with potential readers.

3. Bookmarks - bookmarks use is similar to the business cards. The advantage of the bookmarks that they can be used for the practical bookmarking purposes as well, and are not easily lost.

4. Blogger Meetups - look for a local social network of bloggers in your area, and attend their events. With constant expansion of the virtual communication, face-to-face contacts between the blogging fans become even more valuable.

5. Stickers - make nice stickers as part of your blog promotion materials portfolio. Use them at all places where they can attract public attention (your office, car, bag, etc.) and distribute them between people, where they can substitute business cards.

6. Gifts - Everybody likes freebies. Prepare some inexpensive gifts with your logo, blog URL, and brief encouragement to visit you blog.

7. Media - If you have or can get contacts with any kind of public media, and you can get the journalists interesting in you and what you are doing - it is great! You can get a huge boost to your blog exposure.

8. Internet Cafes - Using Internet Cafรฉ approaches can be different: make a deal with cafรฉ owners on making your blog a starting page on their PCs, or place pack of your business cards near every computer, or distribute posted notes or pens (everybody needs them) with your printed data.

9. T-shirts - Wear T-shirts promoting your blog can largely reinforce your brand and credentials. Giving it away means spreading your advertising even more drastically.

10. Workshops and Teaching Opportunities - Attend and actively participate in any educational activities where you can spread a word about your wonderful blog.

11. Advertise - Online advertising is used by many established blogger. But why not going further, advertising your blog in the local newspapers, magazines, or newsletters.

12. Notice boards - Put you flyers or business cards in the permitted for advertising spots at public places.

13. Talk About It - If you conversation might be benefited from reference to your blog, do not hesitate and mention that, supporting your point of view or giving an interesting information on the topic of discussion.

14. Library - Visit local libraries, locate books on the topic of your interest, and place your business card inside. Let the interesting reader find it later.

Drug reference guide.

I was not particular about taking an appointment with a specialist doctor as I know my ailment was a minor and a quick checkup will suffice.

Even then, I had to seek an appointment as the only hospital nearby is a posh and high end one. I was punctual for my appointment but which doctor keeps it up? Of course, I took it in my stride and awaited my turn.

Other patients who were sitting next to me were talking about a special mobile phone that the doctor is using as a drug reference guide. It is a software developed by Epocrates and is now used by over 500,000 health care professionals.

Yes, I too remember reading about it online. With the Epocrates’ drug guide loaded on their PDA or smartphone clinicians can immediately access the information needed to make prescribing decisions – such as drug dosing, side effects and health plan coverage.

This announcement was paid for by Epocrates”.

What you can do in Social Authority?

Social Authority is silently moving up the scale that measures the popularity and usefulness of social marketing.

Every social community site including the giant (is it still a giant?) announce them to be a place for sharing photos, videos and what not. But the moment a social media site comes online, a few thousand bloggers and webmasters become members and the statistics is proudly displayed in their sites.

Because, every one wants visitors and social community sites are considered the most effective medium to get your blogs/websites across thousands from many nations. It is highly convenient media to market self with no money to advertise.

I have recently joined Social Authority, which can also be used to promote yourself and this is how it is done:

You clicked on the link and saw my profile page in social authority.

You have seen the images of my friends which are hyperlinked to their profiles. You can add them as your friend, add their friends to your list of friends and so on. Your contact grows to literally thousands in a matter of days.

You can send messages to your friends all at once or individually. Well, you can add links to your online presence in your message. Here is my special friend’s profile-Chris Lang. http://socialauthority.ning.com/profile/ChrisLang

You can invite more friends if you know their email ids. They become members and they invite their friends. Well, isn’t that how Orkut or MySpace has grown?

Then, there are groups you can join and what you see on my page is the names of the groups that I have joined, the number of members in each group. Groups are the best place to ask questions and answer others’ questions showing your knowledge.

You can start a discussion (your profile is linked through your image) on anything that is related to the topic of the group; include links to your websites and blogs. You can reply to discussions and follow them too through daily email digest.

In my profile page, the next thing you see on the left sidebar, the titles of the discussion that I have started and all are hyperlinked to the actual thread. Viewers of your profile are impressed by your frequency of activity and the number of replies you get.

Next shows my blog’s last five posts that is displayed here via its feed. You can configure it show the titles only, change the feed URL daily if you have more blogs/websites.

The center part of my page displays all my recent activities like who I have added as my friend, who has made a comment on my profile, what blog post I have made (yes, you can write a blog post or copy yours made elsewhere). As the displays increase, you can remove some of them.

Even this page is given a RSS URL by social authority. Isn’t that very thoughtful?

Then, my profile is displayed as I have edited/configured as follows:

Social Status: Intermediate Social Marketer

About Me: I am a Maths lecturer in India. I blog for fun and money. My life slogan: Pass it on; Share.

Website: http://theshelters.com

Blog: http://theshelters.net

So, you are again an opportunity to show your links.

After this part, you can your choice of photos and videos. Mine is blank because I have nothing of my own creativity.

The last part displays my blog posts’ synopsis with a link to full read.

At the top men, you can see the members of Social Authority, find out various forums and groups. You can customize your page’s appearance, edit your preferences etc.

Have I left out anything?

Listen to Chris on secrets of social bookmarking.

Sometimes (I mean rarely), the comments for my blog posts turn out to be meaningful and lead me to gain further knowledge in Internet marketing.

I was first terribly impressed with Chris Lang's knowledge about social bookmarking and hence introduced him to you in a small way through my blog post, "Think again before submitting .."
I would request you to read the comments that pos received so far and you will know more about Chris Lang.

He goes like this: "So social bookmarking if done wrong can actually hurt you." This will awaken many of us who are just dumping links on social bookmarks hoping to get backlinks.

I for one doing just that-dumping and hoping to get readers and backlinks. I think the time has come to buy his e-book on "social marketing".

Feedback on Acnexus.

The last time I blogged about my embarrassment due to pimples and the various acne treatments that I tried before using Acnexus, the blog post received several comments and a couple of them were even sympathetic.

I didn’t know that I am not alone with this womanly issue at my age. I wanted to share my feedback with my blog readers about the effectiveness of Acnexus (how do you pronounce it?)

Not only the acne disappeared in 5 days but it didn’t recur since then. It must have been over 60 days since I last used Acnexus. I am facing my students with confidence now.

No wonder the product is the most used in the world for acne removal.

Embed Documents in your Blog with DocsToc

An interesting announcement drew my attention today. File hosting service Docstoc (http://www.docstoc.com/) is released a nice alternative solution for sending large attachments to friends, family, and co-workers. A small application, called OneClick (http://www.docstoc.com/oneclick), installed on your computer enables a right-click contextual menu, allowing easily send a file located on your hard drive either publicly or securely to your online free storage. Once the file’s been transferred, you will get a link to the Docstoc-hosted document inserted into a new e-mail message that your recipient can open and read.

Sounds interesting already? When I checked the related site, I found that it provides an interesting solution for the blog owners as well for sharing documents in several popular formats (.doc, .pdf, .xls, .ppt) with the blog readers. Embedding the document in the blog or Web Site is easy as ABC. The entire process consists from five steps:

  1. Upload your document to Docstoc Web Site, or find a document already residing in your Docstoc account, or any other public accounts. You can even upload document anonymously, if you do not feel like register or login.
  2. Get to the page where the document is uploaded.
  3. Find the embed code on the right from the document display page and copy the code inside the box in full.
  4. Change the embedded object settings if needed (for example, box display box dimensions).
  5. Embed the code on your blog or Web Site.

Sell your blog content to Oronjo!

I received an email from a company called Oronjo today offering an opportunity to sell my blog's content, pictures, music to their clients.

The whole concept is absolutely new and also it is very easy-I mean the process is easy.

Advantages:
No need to submit your blog for approval
So no Google PR eligibility
Offer to sell any content
Offer to sell whole or part of blog article
Free to join
WP plugin offered.

Disadvantage:
Their suggested price per article is very low but you can set your own price.

I browsed through the web site completely and found it difficult to understand initially. But when I started the registration, activation and setting up the offer to sell, everything came to light.

I still have some doubts o be clarified and asked them my questions and awaiting their answer.

Try it and spread the word please.

XFX GeForce 8800 GT graphics card.

Every time, when a new video game device comes on the market, I have this irrepressible urge to buy it. My husband accuses me of having a false sense of requirement.

He pointed out when I upgraded my PC with a DVD writer and asked me when I last used the CD writer. I realized that I never used it so far. “So why do you want a DVD writer now which you will never use?”-he asked.

But somehow I have always managed to shut him up and go about buying what I wanted.

When I wanted to buy another set of flash video games, my son informed that I need to buy one of the latest video cards in order to view the high resolution graphics of the latest video games.

I carefully avoided the glare from my husband and made a secret pact with my son to upgrade my PC with XFX SLI Ready GeForce 8800 graphics card.

Remember Hilton Head Rentals.

When compared to my preferences, my husband has finer tastes when it comes to stay at hotels or resorts. He has an uncanny way of selecting the places to stay wherever we go for holiday. He spends considerable time in the Internet searching for the finest accommodation, food and service.

He does this for others too and charges a fee! Invariably, those who take his recommendations seriously, return to him always, voluntarily paying a little extra for his services as a token of appreciation.

The last time he did this was for a big family of 9 persons when they wanted to holiday at South Carolina. My husband booked them two suites at Hilton Head rentals printed out 4 pages of detailed information on sight seeing places, food, wine and shopping.

Hilton Head is an island in Beaufort County, South Carolina, United States. There is an ancient Shell Ring that can be seen near the east entrance to the Sea Pines Forest Preserve. The ring, one of only 20 in existence, is 150 feet in diameter and is believed to be over 4,000 years old.

I spend at least 20 minutes a day to submit some of my blog posts to social bookmarking sites in the hope of getting back links. And I have spent countless hours to compile a big list of social bookmarking sites and spent equal number of hours to register in them.

Chris Lang just stopped me from having false hopes of getting back links by submitting to social media sites.

I have initiated a thread, "How many social sites follow links" in the social authority forum and Chris Lang has replied in great detail about what is the Google's strategy in ranking your site, how we may be considered as a spammer by submitting to popular social bookmarking sites including Digg.

We all should read his e-book on social marketing that contains totally different but very useful information.

Excellent online community for webmasters and bloggers.

If you have a website, you need to be a member at Social Marketing Central!

Come on, you can’t ask such a question! Don’t you want visitors to your website/blog?

How Social Marketing central can help me?

Comments moderation with TypePad AntiSpam

Six Apart has launched a new free open source product into beta called TypePad AntiSpam. The basic spam filtering technology has been already used by the company since May 2007 as built-in feature of TypePad blogs. Now it is offered as a plug-in for other blogging platforms, such as Movable Type and WordPress, and any other platform which supports spam plugins.

TypePad AntiSpam beta is free for any type of use, personal and commercial, regardless of how large your site is and of how many comments you receive daily. In comparison, Akismet, the similar service for WordPress and other platforms, is free for personal use but starts at $5 a month for anyone making more than $500 a month off their blog.

The developed software adapts to the changing spam tactics. You can report any comment that is not welcome to your blog, and the TypePad AntiSpam engine learns from your spam definition, retaining quality comments and enhancing the automatic unwanted entries detection and filtering with every step.

Download the plug-in from the authors Web Site: http://antispam.typepad.com/info/get-started.html
