BlogDesk - free software for Blog writing and publishing

Sometimes, blog post preparation for publishing takes more time than post generation. It is not suppose to be like that. You should delegate as much responsibilities for the post publishing to your secretary (if you have one), or software.

BlogDesk is an offline software client that assists you in comfortable writing and easy publishing new posts to your blog.

Software Features:
* The main feature - it is totally free to use.

* Software is optimized for the following blogging platforms: WordPress, MovableType, Drupal, Serendipity, and ExpressionEngine.

* Insert images directly with WYSIWYG editor, edit them with built-in ImageWizard, and even create linked thumbnails.

* Easily insert and edit links. If you link to local files (such as MP3 or PDF), BlogDesk will automatically upload them to your blog file storage.

* For multi-language blogging, you got 14 Dictionaries to conduct spell checking.

* Interesting feature of Frequently Used Phrases saves time on typing of often used phrases, sentences, acronyms or complex formulations.

* Define and insert tags instead of retyping them with Tags-Generator.

* Publish you post simultaneously to multiple blogs with one click.

* Keep your ideas and notes for the future posts in the convenience of Notebook, where you are able to create multiple entries under multiple categories.

Download the software from authors’s Web Site: http://www.blogdesk.org/en/index.htm
P.S. The only thing, I do not like in this software - is that it does not support Blogger.

Football bloggers needed.

Oh, I am disappointed! I searched for blogging opportunities on cricket. I am passionate about cricket and I can write top quality blog articles on cricket.

I searched for nearly an hour with several keywords such as 'Cricket Bloggers', 'Blogging on cricket' and so on. But nothing was found even after an hour.

But I kept stumbling on this title: "Football bloggers needed". More bloggers are needed from Norway, Holland, Macedonia and Iceland; they are required to make blog articles on their national football team members.

Though I watch football, I have no real big interest in it.

Please share this post with friends.

Can babies sleep on foam mattress?

What if I tell you that some adults can’t sleep on foam mattress; will you believe me?

But you must, my mother-in-law will never sleep on a foam mattress because she says she is not comfortable with its bouncy nature. Also, she is of the opinion that it adds to the body heat.

Oh, some assumption really! When my son was born, she refused to lay him down on my new foam mattress.

But for me, I always await 10 PM eagerly. The thought of sinking down on the luxury of foam mattress will push my laborious day with anticipation.

If by any chance, you are contemplating to buy yourself a new foam mattress, please remember to visit Bedinabox.com before you make up your mind. They offer 120 day in- home trial.

Lifetime warranty on computer memory.

Hmm... I am not bad. I am impressed with my diagnosing abilities. It seemed to have improved due to prolonged exposure to computer and Internet.

Oh, you thought I am a doctor of medicine? I am far too off being a doctor that can diagnose human ailment; I can say exactly when I have to enhance computer memory. I know because I have done that already twice in the last 6 months.

The first time I did, I was deceived by a shop who supplied me with inferior quality RAM. It did not last even 60 days; it slowed down my computer considerably. It started behaving as if it has become a human being; I mean it took nearly 4 minutes to process a simple command like ‘wake up’. (Smile)

There, I have learnt a lesson. I became smart with my knowledge of shopping for computer parts. I knew where to buy. The second time, I bought the computer memory from 4AllMemory.com. They source computer memory from only the most trusted suppliers in the industry and go the extra mile of offering a lifetime warranty on any memory upgrade.

How to avoid fatal addiction.

I hate news stories that pokes at peoples’ emotion and make them act contrary to their nature. But we are constantly subjected to only that-stories of vio…, cri…. See, I am not even prepared to spell them out fully.

At a shopping mall yesterday, I was forced to hear a sad story of middle aged father who was a victim of his own bad habits. Oh, do I need to say that he was an addict to fatal drugs?

The gossipers of his story were accusing doctors of a local hospital for their inability to cure him of his addictions. How can they? No addict can be cured outside the confines of a drug rehabilitation clinic. Treatment for all sorts of addictions should be entrusted to the care of specialist professionals only and not to doctors who attend to small ailments.

Oh, God, when will the people learn?

Blogging communities.

One of the blogging communities like Mybloglog.com and Blogcatalog.com is Bumpzee.com. It is definitely not as popular as the other two and I could point out a couple of reasons for that.

1. I always have trouble logging in there. Their system keeps saying that my login details are incorrect. And I know they are correct.

2. Their response to bugs is not forthcoming at all. Or, may I have overlooked it? I doubt so.

3. Their website is certainly slow in loading.

Though I don't find anything wrong with the users of Bumpzee.com, somehow I feel they are not as enthusiastic as the members of the other two mentioned above. It is true that many members of may use all the three but it is just my feeling.

Any feedback on this? Do you know of any other active blogging communities?

A forum for women bloggers.

Actually I don't see any competition for women bloggers against men bloggers. What is there after all? And above all, mostly, none looks at the name of the blogger and only look at the content.

Bloggers get to know each other personally through blogging communities and forums only.

Today, I stumbled onto a forum for women bloggers. This forum Women Bloggers Unite is hosted by a fellow member in Smorty, a paid to blog platform.

The forum is just born and requires support from all the women bloggers for mutual benefit. Hey, if we benefit, then naturally the men of our family also are benefited-right?

Right now, only 9 members have joined so far.

Create your own Internet Radio Station with MediaMaster

MediaMaster is offering you unlimited network web space, where you can store all you audio tracks and access them from any computer connected to Internet or from a streaming player.

Once your tracks are uploaded, you can create and manage playlists, rate individual songs, and share your music with others with embeddable widgets for blogs, Web sites, and social networking profiles.

You can even create your own streaming network radio station on the basis of your collection, and allow visitors of your personal blog or your profile on social networking sites to listen it. You have a complete control over the musical tracks that you would like to share with your virtual friends.

You should not be worried about copyright issues as neither the widget or radio subscriptions actually give people copies of your music, it's all streamed. And, there's no way for them to actually download the music.

For those who prefer a visual presentation, I am attaching a small video clip:

It should be cool to give your blog visitors one more reason to visit your site!

Wall sconce to match your mood.

Mood, the number one indicator of our state of mind, plays a vital role in all the moments of our daily life. Excluding consummate actors, none can hide their mood; their facial expression will reveal their current state of mind.

Similarly, our house can express various moods based on the way we paint different rooms, the way we place our furniture etc; why, even the wall sconce can affect our mood.

We generally decorate our house so our visitors like it more than to match our taste-right?

If that is the case, we should use materials such as furniture, paint, furnishings etc to make the visitor feel at ease. Overall, everything in our living room should express cheerfulness.

I particularly would give more importance to wall lighting. Using proper wall sconces, I would avoid too direct lighting.

Any difference of opinion?

Baywords: censorship-free blogging community from Pirate Bay!

If you know, what torrent means, most likely, you are familiar with Pirate Bay, one of the biggest BitTorrent trackers, the online file sharing community, distributes torrents that not always point to licensed copies of copyrighted material. In some countries, offering such torrents might be illegal as copyright violations, but in Sweden, where company operates, the torrent trackers are not a subject of legal prosecution.

Pirate Bay recently came to the community focus in relation with the music industry lobby group - The International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI) - going to court to force Danish ISP Tele2 blocking access to the enemy website accusing it of aiding and abetting copyright infringement. In return, Pirate Bay is seeking damages from IFPI for blocking access to its website; even thou the block generating a very limited negative effect on the company popularity and operations.

Devoted to the free information flow on Internet, The Pirate Bay has established an uncensored image-hosting site call BayIMG and is planning to open an uncensored video-hosting community. While the image-hosting is censorship free, host kindly requests not to put porn images on it, using available alternative services instead.

As logical extension of its policy, Pirate Bay has launched a blogging service where bloggers won’t have to fear censorship, Baywords (http://baywords.com/), based on the Wordpress blogging platform.

The Pirate Bay team explains:

“We’re proud to present a new service - baywords.com. Because of the need of freedom of speech and secure hosting facility of the words being said we could not agree to how people behave towards bloggers. Many blogs are being shut down for uncomfortable thoughts and ideas. We will not do that. Our goal is to protect freedom of speech and your thoughts. As long as you don’t break any Swedish laws in your blog, we will defend it”.

For people who are considering moving their Wordpress or Blogger account over to Baywords, importing is pretty straightforward and compatible with all the popular blog platforms.

Cross link exchange.

By-passing the new comers to the blogosphere, I am calling attention to all the experienced bloggers who have this burning desire to get backlinks.

You all probably know that getting backlinks from similar niche is very important than getting backlinks from all and sundry. I know we still give in to such links too because something is better than nothing.

If you want to gain exposure through cross promotion partnerships with like-minded blogs and sites, please go to Link Like. As the name suggests, we can get links from other blogs of the same category as ours.

There are plenty of categories that include personal blog, consumer products, business services, professional blog, user services and shopping.

LinkLike is a social networking web site for folks who run web sites. It is a sort of you scratch my back and I to do the same type. They say that heir site is a a metered ad exchange service which means for every user you send to their site, they must send a user to your site.

Self defense products for women Blogger.

Is eavesdropping considered a big crime? Then I should confess to my crime that is committed without any intention. We all happen to hear myriad things when you travel, shop, stand in line. I am sure we can’t be sued for this.

But the surprising thing is we retain something we heard and are able to recall it in appropriate time-don’t you think so?

That was how I was able to help a girl student of mine. It seemed she has been the target of eve teasing and was quite shaken and grief stricken. I called her to meet me with her parents.

I informed them about simple self defense products that I came to know about while I was in the shopping mall a year ago. I explained to them about how to use a pepper spraying device in defense of self.

Who knows, one day she may become a Blogger like me and might still need that pepper spray.

The image you see above is called a Pepper pen.

Acne gone in 5 days.

I am 47 years now. Do you believe that anyone can get affected by acne at this age?

But I have it. And it is so embarrassing. I feel out of place.

Daily I am meeting nearly 200 students. They all belong to various age groups from 14 to 17 years. I know they are smiling to themselves when they look at me. I dare not think what will be their reaction at my back.

I tried just about everything suggested by everyone that I met but nothing worked so far.
By this time, I have become a sort of specialist in acne treatment.

Finally, I just stared using Acnexus. It is recommended to me by an online contact. It is supposed to say goodbye to my embarrassment in just five days. I hope this is the best acne treatment. I fervently wish it works.

Today is the first day. You all can hope to see my blemish less face published across the Internet in another four days.

Blogging for Business.

Pro bloggers and freelance bloggers for money should be on the lookout for tips and guidance. Once you find a blog that you feel is useful to you, you should either bookmark it or you should subscribe to its feed.

Also, if you like, write a blog post on it explaining to your blog readers why that particular blog is useful to you.

Here is a blog-Blogging for Business that I stumbled onto today. His name is Ted, an IT man.
He writes on various topics on blog planning, blog traffic, local business blogging and more.

There are many success stories he blogs about in the business blogging industry and affiliate marketing through blogs seems to have motivates him a lot.

On blog traffic too, he is a lot unconventional. I mean his articles are not on too familiar ways of blog promotion.

Read his blog today.

Blog to Death! Is Blogging a Health Hazard?

Blogs are a curious phenomenon. Like modern poetry, they have more writers than readers…those who have lost their health in their determination to sate their readers’ interest are, after their fashion, martyrs to a worthy cause.

Telegraph

TubeImage.com

Three well-known tech bloggers have had heart attacks since December, and a story in the New York Times suggests that the high stress of blogging may be a cause. Many obsessive bloggers complain of weight fluctuation, insomnia and exhaustion. "There is no official diagnosis of death by blogging, and the premature demise of two people obviously does not qualify as an epidemic," said the newspaper. "But friends and family of the deceased ... say those deaths have them thinking about the dangers of their work style."

Even amateur and occasional bloggers know what I mean. The urgency to express an original thought, to think it over, and to post it first, before everyone else, is a permanent driver. There is and permanent strain to find interesting topics of discussion and appealing ideas that will resonate with readers. Most important, it is the constant pressure to drive page views that is burdensome.

It is impossible, of course, to know whether blogging played a role in the heart attacks of bloggers Russell Shaw, of ZDNet, Marc Orchant of blognation, and Om Malik. “The longstanding observation that rates of coronary heart disease vary markedly among occupations-more than can be accounted for by conventional risk factors for coronary heart disease-has generated a quest for specific components of work that might be of aetiological importance,” as a review of the literature on psychosocial factors and cardiovascular disease put it in the British Medical Journal a few years back.

So, can blogging be included in the high-risk occupations list? I doubt so. Quoting Larry Dignan, who also has been interviewed for the Times story, but did not support the cases generalization outlook, so his opinion was not counted: “Yes, blogging is stressful. Yes, it can be insane. But is it any worse than being a corporate lawyer? How many of those folks dropped in the last six months? How about mortgage brokers? Hedge fund traders? FBI agents? Any job where you gnash your teeth together? We write for a living, yap all day and don’t have to wear suits. You could do worse than blogging”.

So, it is opinion of the professional blogger, whose financial state depends on the blog popularity. For most of you, it is just mostly fun, and slightly income. Do not get obsessed by blogging, do not let it to hook you up. There is life in the Real World as well. Look around! Your friends and families need you even more than your readers! Do not Blog to Death!

The use of HDMI splitters.

While we were watching a good movie, the TV went silent and we saw an error message, ‘No Signal’.

My son went up to the terrace and fiddled with the dish antenna but the TV was adamant. We checked all the connecting cables but could not find any faulty connections. But my son suspected something wrong with the quality of audio/video outlet.

We called the technician and he turned up 12 hours late. He too first fiddled with the dish antenna. He then came down and immediately saw the fault. Though he temporarily fixed the problem, he advised us to buy a HDMI splitter.

Seeing our blank faces, he explained that the High-Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI) is a compact audio/video connector interface for transmitting uncompressed digital streams.

HDMI splitters are used to connect connects digital audio/video sources such as a set-top box, video game console such as Xbox and AV receiver.

Since we don’t know where to get it, we requested the technician to buy one for us.

Blog Runner.

Blog Runner is a news aggregator from The New York Times. This news aggregator watches news articles and blog posts and tracks news stories as they develop across the Web.

Unlike Blog Lines, Blog Runner not only concentrates on blog posts but pulls up articles on Law, Economy, Religion, Media and Iraq too.

I spent roughly 10 minutes browsing. Nothing interested me. I found more political news, about Obama and Tibet violence.

Just as I was about to quit a new feed caught my eye. It is about a man who was on his way to India from Bristol but quit in between. Telegraph .co.uk reported that Mark Boyle, 28, who began his trip with only t-shirt, sandals and a bandage four weeks ago, hoped that strangers along the way would provide him with food and places to stay.

Just because he could speak French when he reached Calais, he turned back home.

The picture depicts an ultra modern space saving office table with a facility to accommodate a PC at the side.

The most conspicuous in most of the offices is the lack of leg room under the tables.

But at this table, a 7 footer can stretch his legs comfortably.

This most beautiful furniture is available at Spacify.com. This website is a one stop resource for all kind of your furniture needs that include dining room furniture, kitchen and kids room, designer storage cabinets and more.

This bedding caught my eye. I have no other choice to buy this immediately.
It is delivered free of cost with in U.S.

Which blogging forum to join?

I join a blogging forum the moment I come to know about it. I won't hesitate a second.
Bloggers forums are great source of knowledge to me. I learn about new blog promotion ideas, blog monetization methods, widgets for blogs and more by reading forums for bloggers.

Digital Point forum is my first choice. There is no comparison at all. Then, I would rate Bloggeries Forum.

In another blog post, I came to know about 13 forums for bloggers. In that list too, my first choices are the choices for the blog author.

One or two in that list are new to me. Authority Blogger is one and I just registered in it. I find plenty of useful stuff in the Blogging Q&A thread.

There are about 1000 members in it.

Earn with LinkXL.

LinkXL-I suppose the XL stands for extra large (income)?(smile)

Surely Technorati is churning out great blog posts in its feeds. No wonder it has millions of blogs in its database.

The feed title was 'Adsense Alternatives' and that prompted me to open the link. Not that the title is new to me but I expect to find something new in it always. I am not disappointed.

I found out about LinkXL, which can be considered as an alternative to Google AdSense, is a contextual advertising program. LinkXL is automated and allows advertisers the ability to place text links anytime.

So what special?
LinkXL's specialities are a few but worth looking at it. If you are open minded, you will read further. The offer them is convert hitherto unlinked words to hyperlinks and you are paid for that.

Do you understand? Create natural links in content so they will nor look like sponsored links. Also, by this way, you can monetize every page- not just sidebars or footers. That throws up great earning potential.

Be carefull: Blogging might be dangerous!

Twenty-two-year-old Lisa called in sick one Friday afternoon. But she wasn’t really sick. She was planning to start the weekend early by going to the beach with her friends. Days later, she posted pictures of the outing on her blog. Someone in her office found the link. Soon, she was called to her boss’ office. She didn’t lose her job, but she got into a lot of trouble.
Eighteen-year-old Anne enjoys an independent life. Both parents are in the US. She blogged freely about her misadventures—drunken nights out, failed tests, her penchant for bad boys. She thought her blog was being read only by her friends.
But a concerned relative sent the link to her parents who immediately jumped to action, calling Anne up and threatening to fly her to the US where she could be put under their watch. Anne is still in the country but has deleted her blog.
The two girls have experienced blog backfire. Things they posted online ended up working against them.
Make sure it doesn’t happen to you, too. Here are some things to think about when you blog.
1. You don’t know who is reading your page.
Unless your entries are locked and you have total control over who has access to them, you’re never sure who is reading your entries. Your parents, your teachers—they’re all just a google search away from unlocking your deepest thoughts.
2. What you post can make or break your career.
While some people have gotten book deals after building a huge blog readership, most bloggers need to realize that employers have started using Google searches as a tool to scan job applicants.
3. Will your post hurt anyone?
It is easy to vent online your anger with a friend or a family member. But let the anger simmer before hitting the “publish” button. Sleep on it, think it over because once it’s online, it will not be easy to get rid of—not with the cache features of online searches.
4. Can your entries be lifted and used against you?
Your blog entries may be lifted anytime by anyone who knows how to highlight and press Ctrl and C. Your photos may be stolen as easily and defaced, like some have been on gossip blogs. It may be smart to add javascript that prevents readers from right-clicking on your page. It’s not total protection, but it may save you from the less-techie lurkers.
5. Will your entries attract the wrong kind of people?
Most blog readers are kind. They leave comments, they send you e-mails and sometimes, you even find people you can be friends with. But some of the more popular bloggers have had problems with blog stalkers. High internet traffic is a good thing, but not when it leads to scary encounters.

Nimbus offers VoIP.

The telecommunications field witnessed a great jump when VoIP Phone Systems were introduced. Communication across the globe was made possible with superior voice quality and at a price that cannot be calculated on a call to call basis because the cost is really insignificant.

Another extraordinary feature with VoIP is the flexibility in mobility. You can shift your office to anywhere in the world and start communicating instantly as if you have been always here.

Nimbus VoIP reduces upfront cost by eliminating the capital expenditures that come from buying and maintaining traditional PBX phone systems as well as the service contracts or labor charges.

Now, what will be your reaction when you are told that with Nimbus VoIP, you are offered unlimited US calling and free dialing to any other Nimbus VoIP phone in the world?

I wonder what is going to happen to the mobile phone world when Internet telephony is introduced in that industry.
